Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 15, 7 pm to participate in an online discussion of the need for a public Telecom. Cory Doctorow has been chosen by the Davenport NDP education committee to present on this theme. Telecommunications affects everybody, and everybody is justifiably dissatisfied with the high fees, poor service,and monopolization, despite the fact that online communications has become a vital and necessary part of everyday life. Saskatchewan has a public telecom (Sasktel), which has lower fees and a better bailout than the Big Three. Note also that the event is being co-sponsored by the Humber River-Black Creek Riding Association, whose MPP, Tom Rakocevic, will participate.
