Marit Stiles says Doug Ford, whose government is under RCMP criminal investigation, should come clean about his role in the Greenbelt scandal NOW.
Do you agree?
A year ago, the Auditor General’s report exposed Doug Ford’s corrupt plan to carve up the Greenbelt for the benefit of a a few wealthy developers. Now, he’s under criminal investigation because of it.
But Ford doesn’t need to wait for the RCMP to finish their probe—he can and should come clean now. When did he first know about the plans to remove land from the Greenbelt? Who ordered staff to illegally delete emails? Why won’t he release his personal phone records?
From the start, Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP have been leading the fight for transparency and accountability. When Ford’s government moved to carve up the Greenbelt, we took action—filing the first complaint with the Auditor General, demanding audits, and exposing insider deals that turned $240M of Greenbelt land into $8.3B in profits for developers.
Our relentless efforts forced Ford to reverse his decision and led to the resignation of three ministers. But the fight isn’t over.
