The Ontario New Democratic Party is seeking energetic, organized and results-oriented individuals to join our team as Phone Bank callers to identify voter intentions in the 44th Ontario Election, and other outreach campaigns as needed.
You will speak with voters from across Ontario, with the goal of understanding voter intentionsand engaging and persuading voters to support the Ontario NDP by sharing our vision for the province. You will also be required to participate in other outreach campaigns as needed.
Duties:
• Operate the auto-dialing software and make a minimum of 40 calls per hour.
• Work to achieve and exceed calling and voter data targets.
• Be friendly, polite, informed and knowledgeable.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information and abide by the Ontario NDP Non-Disclosure Agreement.
• Maintain meticulous records regarding contacts.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated skill and recent success in telemarketing and phone-banking.
• Knowledge of the Ontario NDP and Provincial Politics.
• Excellent judgement, a polite, engaging and enthusiastic telephone manner, “the gift of gab.”
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and with hard deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team dynamic.
• Ability to take direction and show initiative as appropriate.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• A high-speed internet connection is required. Access to a laptop is strongly preferred.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is compensated as per Appendix IV of the ONDP Collective Agreement. Starting wage is $20/hour. This contract will run until March 31st or until the conclusion of the next Provincial Election, with possibility of extension. This is a remote position, but the Ontario NDP has an office at 2069 Lakeshore Blvd W that callers may be asked to commute to on rare occasion.

In recognition of the time and labour involved in preparing for and attending an interview, the ONDP will financially compensate interviewees at a fixed rate of $75 per interview on request. In the event that a candidate is asked to prepare a presentation or assignment for an interview, the ONDP will financially compensate the candidate for that work at a rate equal to the hourly rate for the position, based on the number of hours the hiring committee believes the task should take.
