PC’s Ross Romano sends donors his bill for $300/month Toronto parking spot

PC candidate Ross Romano may not live in Sault Ste. Marie, but he does have an expensive parking spot in Toronto paid for by the Sault Ste. Marie Conservative riding association.

Romano, who lived in Sudbury, rents a downtown Toronto parking space for $300 a month, according to his own publicly-available documents filed with Elections Ontario.

He sends the bills to his PC association like an expense account, just as his colleagues have done with over $120,000 in MPP allowances, a practice the NDP will immediately ban. Since 2019, Romano had his riding association pay $5100 for his parking.

Andrea Horwath and Sault Ste. Marie NDP candidate Michele McCleave-Kennedy will fix what is broken, will fight for better health care and a more affordable life in the North, and will ban these MPP allowances, once and for all.

Background:
Romano’s 2019 financial return lists $1500 for the parking spot, and his 2020 return lists $3600 for the parking spot, a total of $5100. Those returns are attached.
