QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles will devote the upcoming legislative session to bringing new hope to Ontarians and bold solutions to Queen’s Park.
With the provincial legislature set to resume on February 21, Stiles convened her caucus for the first time as leader of the Official Opposition, bringing MPPs together to discuss priorities and proactive solutions for Ontario’s crises in health care, housing, climate change, and the rising cost of living.
“Ontarians are counting on a strong NDP to speak up for them and put forward fresh ideas that will make life better,” said Stiles. “They are looking to us as the Official Opposition to hold Doug Ford to account as he continues to let us all down. We are going to show Ontarians that things can and will be better.”
Stiles and the Official Opposition will dedicate the upcoming session to putting forward bold solutions that will bring positive change for Ontarians, including vital investments in public health care, stronger protections for Ontario’s incredible farmland, and ensuring a plan for truly affordable housing.
“We will bring Ontarians hope with solutions that will fix the health care staffing crisis within our public system, rather than selling our health care off to the highest bidder,” Stiles said. “We’ll keep working to build strong and caring communities, with affordable homes, good jobs and public health care that people can count on.”
“Ontarians deserve a government with integrity that always puts their interests first. I know we have a lot of work ahead, and I am so proud that our team has hit the ground running. We are ready for this.”
