“This is only the beginning”: NDP coming to Kitchener with plan to restore integrity at Queen’s Park

KITCHENER – Ontario NDP Leader, Marit Stiles, is bringing her 29-member Official Opposition Caucus to Kitchener next week for a three-day strategic planning session that will set the stage for the upcoming legislative session, where Stiles will lead the fight to restore ethics and integrity to Queen’s Park in the wake of Ford’s Greenbelt corruption.

The following quote can be attributed to Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP:

“For the last year, your Official Opposition has been hard at work protecting public health care, standing up for workers rights, and fighting for measures that will improve the cost-of-living crisis in this province.

“We’ve won real victories in the face of a tough challenge – we forced the Ford government to back down from their policies against CUPE education workers. We’ve seen Bill 124 ruled an unconstitutional attack on nurses’ rights. Just last week Ford reversed course on yet another attempted grab of Greenbelt land.

“We’ve seen that pressure works on this government. And this is only the beginning.”

The Ontario NDP Caucus’ strategic planning session will include the following highlights that are open to media:

• Wednesday, September 6: Marit Stiles to address Ontario NDP Caucus team (9 am)
• Thursday, September 7: Community canvass with Kitchener Centre candidate (5pm)

The upcoming legislative session is scheduled to start September 25. Stiles and the Ontario NDP have issued a formal demand to recall Legislature immediately, so the NDP can take immediate steps to cancel Ford’s Greenbelt grab and restore affected lands for protection.
