NDP response to Ford excluding Toronto from transit fare integration

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP Transit critic Tom Rakocevic said it’s unfair that the Ford government has chosen to exclude Toronto from its integration of fares for all other local GTHA transit systems when connecting to GO Transit.

“For two years, Torontonians and everyone who commutes into Toronto daily have been paying extra because Doug Ford cut TTC-Go Transit fare integration back in 2020. At a time when the cost of living is skyrocketing, making commuting more expensive for anyone who commutes to and from Toronto was wrong.

Ford needs to reverse his cut to Torontonians and extend fare integration to everyone.

The Ontario NDP has long called for a flat fare across all municipal GTHA transit systems, and we’ll continue to fight for affordable, dignified transit.”
