Is Ford set to reverse yet another disastrous policy decision?

QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, the Leader of the Official Opposition NDP responded to reports that the Ford government is poised to reverse yet another major policy decision – this time, its Peel Region dissolution plan:

“This would be a victory for people in Peel Region, who are facing massive tax increases because of the Ford-Crombie deal.

Once again, we see the power of people speaking out against Doug Ford’s bad policies, and the power of the Official Opposition to amplify those voices.

The Ford-Crombie deal, which the new Liberal leader defended just hours ago, would have cost people in Mississauga a property tax increase of up to 17 percent; in Brampton, a property tax increase of up to 34 per cent; and in Caledon, 256 per cent – all of this is during a cost-of-living crisis.

Doug Ford and Bonnie Crombie are making bad deals while the NDP is fighting for relief from out-of-control costs.”
