Catherine Fife chosen to be the NDP candidate in Waterloo

WATERLOO — New Democrats in Waterloo have selected incumbent MPP Catherine Fife to be their NDP candidate in the 2022 provincial election. Fife currently serves as the NDP’s critic for Finance and the Treasury Board, and has represented Waterloo at Queen’s Park since 2012 .

Biography

  • Fife has been fighting for better health care, public transit, education and housing for nearly a decade as MPP.
  • Fife has been advocating for a just recovery from the pandemic and demanding better support for Waterloo’s small businesses and workers.
  • Fife is working to build a more compassionate long-term care system, and has introduced the Till Death Do Us Part Act, which stops couples from being separated when they move into nursing homes.
  • Fife lives in Waterloo with her husband Dale and children Aidan and Claire.
